Transmit live subtitles from web browser

This page describes how texts can be typed directly into a web browser and these texts are then sent over network to FAB Subtitler BCAST which transmits received texts as subtitles.

Configuration of FAB Subtitler BCAST

FAB Subtitler BCAST/XCD requires the following to be configured in Options:

  • Make sure to enable the web browser in Options/Special/Web server
  • Activate “Accept transcribed text over REST API” as in the following picture

  • Configure text live formatting settings as required and described on this page

Use the FAB Send LIVE Text Utility

Open the following page in a web browser:

https://www.fab-online.com/publicdownload/sendlivetext.htm

  • First enter the correct IP address and the TCP port which is configured in BCAST for the web server.
  • Click on the button CONNECT to open a connection to FAB Subtitler BCAST and send a command to BCAST to start accepting live texts.
  • Type the text into the edit field and click on SEND to send the text to FAB Subtitler BCAST which will transmit the text as one or multiple subtitles.
  • At the end of subtitle transmission click on the button DISCONNECT.
