Characters allowed in the password for FAB Network Controller

FAB Teletext Editor communicates with FAB Network Controller using a command line. The protocol used for the communication is based on the teletext level 1 character set which does not support special national characters like Ä, Ö, Ü and similar.

The password shall therefore not contain characters which are not supported by the protocol. Some characters like ( ) & . ; have special functionality in the command line in FAB Network Controller (described in the manual) and can also not be used.

The following characters can be used in the password:

A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and ! " % ' * + , - / : < = > ? 

The following characters cannot be used:

# $ § ^ _ ° ß & . ; ( ) 
any accented character like Á á è è Ö ö Č č Đ đ
