Hot-stanby operation of two systems

The FAB Teletext Data Generator/Bridge FT-DGS/FT-DBR is a product that is now obsolete and has been replaced by FAB Teletext Generator.

Two FAB Teletext Data Generators / Data Bridges can be operated in hot-standby operation mode. In this configuration the SDI video output of the Hot-Standby system is connected to the SDI video input of the Master system. The SDI video output of the Master system is then used as the main SDI video output of the system.

Note that all teletext pages and teletext subtitles will have to be sent to both units.

The SDI video output of the Master system will normally contain teletext data generated by the Master Teletext Data Generator / Data Bridge because this one will overwrite any teletext data generated by the Hot-Standby system.

In case of failure of the Master System the Master system will switch to video bypass by the integrated bypass relay. The Teletext Generated by the Hot-Standby system will therefore be present on the SDI video output of the Master Teletext Data Generator / Data Bridge.

In case of failure of the Hot-Standby System the Hot.Standby system will switch to video bypass by the integrated bypass relay. The Teletext Generated by the Master system will therefore be present on the SDI video output of the Master Teletext Data Generator / Data Bridge.

  • In CONFIG / Video format

  • In CONFIG / VBI Configuration
